Nish Kumar: Angry Humour From a Really Nice Guy

Nish Kumar is coming to the Octagon Centre on Friday 13 November, with his new show Angry Humour From a Really Nice Guy. He's billed as the UK's leading political comic, and the title gives you a fair idea of the act: the sort of set that blends comedy with commentary, and doesn't shy away from the political side of things.

If you haven't followed him, Kumar's been around since 2006. He's a double Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee and a regular on panel shows, and he hosted the BBC Two show The Mash Report before it was axed. He's also known as one of Taskmaster's greatest losers, and he's hosted Newsjack on BBC Radio 4 Extra. The Guardian and The Telegraph both named him among the 50 best comedians of the 21st century, and his previous tour played to sold-out crowds across the UK, North America, Australasia and mainland Europe.

This show is for over-14s only because of strong language, and the description promises existential angst and political disquiet. It's the kind of night that works best if you're in the mood for something that leans into the current state of things rather than just a string of jokes.

It's at the Octagon Centre on Clarkson Street, Sheffield S10 2TQ. The show starts at 7:30pm, with doors opening at 6:30pm. Tickets are £25 face value, £27.50 including the £2.50 booking fee, plus a £1 transaction fee per order.
