Amateur production by STOS Theatre Company of the Christmas musical of sing-along hits from the films, for ages 6+.
STOS Theatre Company are bringing Nativity! The Musical to the Lyceum from Tuesday 17 to Saturday 21 November, an amateur production of the stage version of the film. It's a feel-good, funny, yuletide-joyful show, and since it's STOS putting it on, it's a local company taking the lead rather than a touring professional cast. The production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International, who supplied the authorised performance materials.
The music is a big part of it. The show works its way through the sing-along hits from the films — 'Sparkle and Shine', 'Nazareth', 'One Night One Moment' and 'She's the Brightest Star' are all in there — and adds a whole host of new songs written for the stage, all in the spirit of Christmas. It's the kind of thing that asks the audience to join in, so if you're the type who likes to sing along, this is your territory.
Behind the scenes, the production is directed by Keeley Kilby, with James Bell as assistant director, Katie Granger on choreography, Dominic Ridler as musical director and Rosie Choppin as production manager. It's a full team effort, and as an amateur production, it's a local cast and crew bringing the whole thing together.
