Motown night at The OEC with a live act by Soultown Collective, a DJ, a two-course dinner and a late bar.
Motown & Soul is back at The OEC on Friday 23 October, running from 7pm to 11:30pm. It's one of their Motown nights, which pay tribute to the golden age of soul with live performances honouring artists like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross and The Temptations. The set leans on the genre's heyday, so you'll hear classics like 'I Want You Back', 'My Girl' and 'Dancing in the Street' by The Temptations and The Four Tops. The organisers describe it as a night to 'party like it's 1969'.
It's a full evening rather than just a gig. The night includes a two-course dinner, a live act and a DJ, with a late bar running until 1am. The live music comes from Soultown Collective, who'll be taking the stage alongside the DJ. Between the dinner, the live set and the DJ, it's a long run, so it works as a whole night out rather than a quick trip in and out.
