Stand-up show Whatsherface by Maisie Adam, the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe winner, at the Octagon Centre.
Maisie Adam brings her new show Whatsherface to the Octagon Centre on Tuesday 9 March 2027. It's a stand-up hour built on her trademark wit, firecracker gags and plenty of angry outbursts, coming straight off the back of Taskmaster, A League Of Their Own and Last One Laughing.
If you've only caught her on the telly, it's worth knowing how she got there. She first tried stand-up in October 2016 in her native North Yorkshire, where she did a full hour for her first ever gig. A couple of months later she entered the UK's largest stand-up competition, So You Think You're Funny, winning the semi-final in Edinburgh and then the final at the end of the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe — she became only the fourth woman to do so in 30 years. Her debut show Vague sold out the Gilded Balloon, earned a Best Newcomer nomination at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards and won the Amused Moose National New Comic, before a January 2019 run at the Soho Theatre.
Since then she's been a regular on the panels and sketch shows you'll recognise: BBC's Mock the Week, Channel 4's 8 Out of 10 Cats and ITV's The Stand Up Sketch Show, as well as The Stephen K Amos Talk Show on Audible and Urban Myths on Sky Arts. Whatsherface is her latest hour, so it's a good chance to see her live rather than through a screen.
