Free guided historic walk along the Sheffield and Tinsley Canal at Victoria Quays, led by Canal & River Trust volunteers on the first Thursday of the month.
Let's Walk: Historic Canal Walk is back at Victoria Junction Cafe on Sunday 15 November, with the group meeting outside the cafe to set off. It's a guided walk along the Sheffield and Tinsley Canal at Victoria Quays, where Canal & River Trust volunteers lead the way through more than 200 years of history. The whole thing is part of the Trust's Let's Activity campaign, run by the waterways and wellbeing charity to encourage people to get out, get active and improve their lives.
The route is an easy grade, designed for adults and for children as an introduction to walking, though parents or guardians need to accompany any children. One thing to keep in mind: it's not accessible for wheelchairs or pushchairs because of the cobbles and stairs along the way, so it's best to leave the pram at home. If you're coming from across the city, public transport is straightforward — Sheffield bus routes 5, 24, 25, 97, 98, X54 and X74 all serve the area, and it's about a 15-minute walk from Sheffield Train Station.

It's free to attend, so there's nothing to pay upfront. The walk starts at Victoria Junction Cafe, Victoria Quays, Furnival Rd, Sheffield S4 7YB, and runs on the first and third Thursday of each month, so if you can't make this one, there'll be another shortly after.
