One-off taster session to try silver jewellery making, with texturing, silver soldering, hand forming and polishing, leaving participants with a piece of jewellery.
Silver Psaltpot is running a jewellery taster session on Thursday 14 January, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at their studio at 3 Brincliffe Crescent, Sheffield S11 9AW. It's a one-off evening designed as a way to try your hand at jewellery making before committing to a full course.
Over the three hours, you'll get stuck into the basics: texturing, silver soldering, hand forming, and polishing silver. You'll leave the session with a silver piece of jewellery to wear, so you're not just watching someone else do it — you're making something you can actually keep. The silver materials are bought on the night, with an approximate spend of £5 to £10 on top of the ticket.
It's worth knowing where this fits into the bigger picture. Silver Psaltpot runs ongoing morning, afternoon, and evening classes in silver jewellery making, structured in six blocks throughout the year to coincide with school term times, alongside one-off specialist workshops. This taster is pitched as a way to experience the craft before signing up for a full block, and it's also sold as a gift for friends or family, with a gift voucher page available if you'd rather give the experience than go yourself.
