Free talk by Courtney Kyle from Pendo on how AI is blurring the line between design and front-end engineering, rescheduled by Front End Sheffield.
Courtney Kyle is coming to Sheffield Hallam University on Thursday 29 October to talk about how AI is shifting the boundary between design and engineering. She's from Pendo, and the session is hosted by Front End Sheffield, the local meetup for web designers and developers. It was originally planned for June but got pushed back because of the heatwave, so this is the rescheduled date.
Kyle's talk focuses on how her team moved away from the traditional static Figma handoff. Instead, they've adopted a two-track workflow: fast, vibe-coded exploration on one side, and real branches and pull requests in the frontend repo on the other, with a deliberate translation step in between. She frames design systems as more critical and more machine-readable than ever as AI joins the team, and she'll be sharing honest stories from a workflow that's still very much in flight, along with practical patterns for bringing AI into the place where design and front-end code actually meet.
