The WhatsOnStage Best New Musical Heathers returns to Sheffield as part of its 2026/27 UK & Ireland tour, with Gerardine Sacdalan as Veronica Sawyer.
Heathers the Musical arrives at The Lyceum on Tuesday 20 October, with the run continuing through to Saturday 24 October. It's a WhatsOnStage Best New Musical winner, and this Sheffield stop is part of its 2026/27 UK & Ireland tour.
The show is based on the 1988 film that starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, written by Daniel Waters. The book, music and lyrics are by Tony Award nominee Laurence O'Keefe and Kevin Murphy. It's set at Westerberg High and follows Veronica Sawyer, a nobody who gets taken under the wings of three beautiful and impossibly cruel Heathers, until the mysterious teen rebel J.D. teaches her that it might kill to be a nobody, but it's murder being a somebody. It's billed as wickedly funny and deliciously dark, and critics have called it 'High School Musical's darker, dirtier cousin', 'stiletto sharp' and 'an outrageous, irrepressible musical'.
For this run, Gerardine Sacdalan takes on the role of Veronica Sawyer, with Louis Hearsey as Jason 'J.D.' Dean. The three Heathers are played by Liberty Stottor, Jessica Ibadin and Lou Henry. The production is directed by Andy Fickman, with choreography by Gary Lloyd and design by David Shields.
