Group mentoring session led by Amanda Marples and other facilitators of The Writers Workshop to help neurodivergent writers develop their creative writing practice.
The Writers Workshop is hosting a group mentoring session for neurodivergent writers at Orchard Square on Sunday 25 October, starting at 11:00 am. It's led by Amanda Marples, one of the facilitators who run the workshop's support for neurodivergent people to develop their creative writing practice through online and in-person groups.
The session is part of the wider work The Writers Workshop does around the city. They're a Sheffield-based organisation that runs in-person writing workshops, classes and social events for writers of all backgrounds, built around four pillars: community, bringing together writers from every walk of life; creativity, stimulating the creative-writing process; craft, honing wordsmithing skills through self-editing and critiquing; and careers, helping writers professionalise and explore routes to publication. The organisation was founded and is run by Beverley Ward, who also programmes wellbeing-focused sessions like the Sunday Soul Sessions.

This particular mentoring is delivered by a team of facilitators that includes Ward alongside Anne Grange, Amanda Marples, Carmel Page, Coco Lone Neal, Emma Garrard, Harley Ryley, Jools Warner, Lorna Partington, Narimaan Shafi and Rachel Mills. Together they offer therapeutic, nature-writing and wellbeing-oriented sessions, so the group mentoring sits within a broader range of support rather than standing on its own. The venue at Orchard Square is step-free and wheelchair accessible, and hybrid sessions are available if you can't make it in person. Tickets start from £0.00, and the session runs on Sunday morning at 11:00 am.
