Weekly writing session facilitated by nature writer Coco Lone Neal at The Writers Workshop, with four Wednesday sessions in November.
Get Writing with Coco starts at The Writers Workshop on Wednesday 4 November, 11 am to 1 pm, and runs as a block of four sessions: 4, 11, 18 and 25 November. It's the longest-standing group at the workshop, and the format is straightforward: every Wednesday has its own theme and focus, but there's no formal instruction. Instead, you get gentle, playful prompts designed to bring out your own voice and style, in whatever genre you're working in and for whatever purpose. It's a safe, creative space to write in the company of like-minded people, with friendship and solidarity cited as side effects.
Associate and nature writer Coco Lone Neal facilitates the sessions; her writing has appeared in The Guardian, The Clearing, Caught by the River and Motherlore Magazine. The Writers Workshop itself is a nonprofit social enterprise, and its members are described as its lifeblood. Beyond this group, the workshop programmes events and workshops focused on community, creativity, craft and careers for writers of all backgrounds and experience.
