Writing workshop with Beverley Ward, using playful prompts to draw out your own voice and style, at The Writers Workshop.
Beverley Ward is leading a writing session at The Writers Workshop on Wednesday 18 November, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. It's part of Get Writing, the workshop she founded alongside the venue itself, and it's run as an afternoon alternative for anyone who can't make the morning session.
Rather than formal instruction, each Wednesday brings its own theme and focus. Ward describes the approach as gentle, playful prompts designed to draw out your own voice and style, so it's more about getting words on the page than following a set curriculum. If you've been wanting to write but aren't sure where to start, that's exactly the kind of thing this is built for.
Ward brings thirty years of experience facilitating writing workshops to the table. She's written four books and works across a range of genres, so she knows her way around a page. The session is hosted at The Writers Workshop, a nonprofit social enterprise that describes its members as its lifeblood, and you can book it as a six-week block or on a week-by-week basis if you'd rather dip in and out.
