Five-act night of live music, FOLfest, with Father of Lies, Resistance is Punk, Fluorescent and guests at Sidney and Matilda.
Father of Lies, Resistance is Punk and Fluorescent are playing Sidney and Matilda on Saturday 21 November, as part of a night called FOLfest. It's billed as a five-act bill, with those three as the main draw and a few guests filling out the rest of the line-up.
The night is put on by FOLfest, and they're pretty open about what they're going for. They describe it as a five-act night with 'zero interest in algorithms, influencers or whatever soulless landfill currently passes for the scene' — a fair bit of a dig at the way most gigs get pushed these days, and a sign of the kind of evening they're putting together. If you're into music that doesn't feel like it's been focus-grouped for a feed, that's the crowd this is aimed at.
On the bill, you've got Father of Lies, Resistance is Punk and Fluorescent, with a handful of guests to make it five acts in total. It's a long night of music rather than a single headline set, so you'll be there for a good few hours of different bands running one after another. The venue is Sidney and Matilda, over on Sidney Street in the Rivelin Works area of Sheffield.
