DJ workshop and social for LGBTQ+ people, womxn and non-binary people to share skills and improve their DJing at Gut Level.
FLAW Collective are running a DJ workshop and social at Gut Level on Tuesday 3 November, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. It's open to LGBTQ+ people, women and gender minorities, and it's as much about the social side as the DJing.
FLAW Collective describe themselves as providing a space for marginalised genders to share skills, collaborate and inspire. The session is framed as a supportive environment in which to learn and improve your DJ skills, so if you've always wanted to get behind the decks but weren't sure where to start, this is a good place to do it. You'll be learning alongside people who share the same focus, and the whole thing is about sharing knowledge rather than just watching someone else do it.
It fits right in with what Gut Level does. The venue focuses its workshops and events on giving a platform to people underrepresented in the music industry, particularly queer and LGBTQ+ people, womxn and non-binary people. They also run the Working Them's Club, a workshop and social space for LGBTQ+ people with a focus on music, art, activism and drinking tea, so this sits in the same vein.
