Family dance show by the Felicity White School of Dance, with dancers aged 3 to 18 mixing ballet, tap, modern and musical theatre across the colours of the rainbow.
Dance Across The Rainbow comes to the Montgomery Theatre on Tuesday 27 October, with two performances that day: a matinee at 2pm and an evening show at 7pm. It's staged by the Felicity White School of Dance, and the whole thing is performed by the school's own dancers, aged 3 to 18, so you'll see the youngest ones sharing the stage with the teenagers.
The show takes the audience on a colourful journey across the rainbow, and that's more than just a title. Every song is inspired by a different colour, and the dancing follows suit. It's a real mix of styles rather than just one: ballet, tap, modern, acro, lyrical and musical theatre all get their moment, so the mood shifts from one piece to the next. The school describes it as a joyful celebration of dance, and with dancers from such a wide age range, it's as much about the community behind it as the choreography.

There's a local connection here too, as the show celebrates the school's Peak District dancers. It runs for around an hour and 50 minutes, including an interval, so it's a full afternoon or evening out rather than a quick stop. The age guidance is 2+, which makes it easy to bring the little ones along if you're planning a family day. With the matinee and evening options, you can pick whichever fits your schedule best.
