A funk and soul house party with DJ Craig Charles, known for his BBC 6 Music show, celebrating funk classics and soul essentials.
Craig Charles brings his Funk & Soul House Party to Foundry on Friday 6 November, with the night starting at 19:00. If you're not familiar with the name, he's the DJ behind the long-running BBC 6 Music show, and this is the live version of that same record bag. The night is built around funk classics, soul essentials and dancefloor anthems, so it's a broad sweep of the genres rather than a deep dive into one particular era.
It's not his first time playing this one in Sheffield. The booking follows sold-out back-to-back years for the night here, so it's a return to a room that's already proved it can hold a crowd for this kind of thing. The whole evening is built on the same foundation as the radio show: funk and soul records that most of us recognise, played out in a club setting rather than through a speaker at home.

Foundry is inside the Sheffield Students Union on Western Bank, S10 2TG. It's an 18+ venue, though under-16s can come as long as they're accompanied by an adult, and the room is wheelchair accessible. The night kicks off at 19:00, so it's an early start for a dancefloor, which means you've got the whole evening ahead of you.
