Concerteenies, the Sheffield company of live music for young children, plays Mishra Music in response to Air Giants' 'HotHouse' at the Sensoria Music & Film Festival.
Concerteenies are bringing a session for the very young to Cole Store on Sunday 25 October, as part of the Sensoria Music & Film Festival. It's a morning one, with doors at 10:45 and the music starting at 11:00, running for an hour. The venue is the former John Lewis building on Burgess Street, so it's right in the city centre.
The session is a response to HotHouse, an installation by Air Giants. That's a whimsical garden of six interactive plant sculptures, each two and a half metres tall, brought to life through movement, light, air and the studio's robotic technology. The music on the day comes from Polly Ives, Kate Griffin and Ford Collier of Mishra Music, who've built their set around that garden.
Concerteenies is a Sheffield company that makes live music for babies, toddlers and young children. They run a few different strands: Musical Stories is for the 0-7s, and Tuning In is designed for children who experience the world a little differently. They work with a regular stable of musicians and practitioners, including Luke Carver Goss, Martin Harwood, Polly Ives, Trevor Waldron and harpist Louise Thomson.

This particular session sits within the wider Sensoria Music & Film Festival, which programmes a mix of live performances, film screenings, installations and exhibitions across the city. Tickets are £5 for adults and £3.50 for children, and it's a morning slot—doors at 10:45, start at 11:00, and an hour's duration—so it's one that fits into a Sunday morning with the little ones.
