Monthly stand-up open mic night at Comedy Jungle with established acts, rising comics and first-timers hosted by Paigan Gibbons.
Comedy Jungle returns to 44 Campo Ln in Sheffield city centre on Thursday 29 October, with the open mic running from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. It's a monthly stand-up night, and this one is presented by Paigan Gibbons.
If you've never been, the format is what gives the night its name. It puts established acts, rising comics and first-timers on the same bill, so you'll hear a professional set followed by someone testing out a few new lines, and maybe a complete beginner stepping up for their first five minutes. It's that mix that makes an open mic different from a curated showcase — you get the polished stuff alongside the raw, unworked material, and the whole thing is held together by Gibbons, who goes by the name 'the Queen of the Jungle'.
Because it's an open mic, the line-up changes every time. The established names use the slot to workshop new bits before they go into a full show, and the newcomers are there to find their feet in front of a live crowd. It's the kind of night where you might catch a comic you'll recognise later on a bigger stage, or just enjoy the unpredictability of seeing a few different stages of a career on one bill.
