Chocolate tasting evening with Bullion founder Max Scotford to mark National Chocolate Day at Cutlers' Hall.
Bullion are hosting a chocolate tasting at Cutlers' Hall on Wednesday 28 October, from 5.30 to 7.30pm. The evening is run by founder Max Scotford, who'll lead the session himself. It falls on National Chocolate Day, and the whole thing is put on by The Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire.
Bullion is a Sheffield bean-to-bar craft chocolate maker, set up in 2016 by Scotford. They've picked up a few awards since then, and Scotford talks a lot about transparency, sustainability and fair relationships with the growers they work with. The tasting is a chance to see that bean-to-bar process in action, with the founder there to walk you through it.
The venue has its own bit of history to it. The Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire was established by Parliamentary Act of Incorporation in 1624, and it's been at the heart of Sheffield and South Yorkshire's manufacturing heritage for more than 400 years. Cutlers' Hall is one of the city's most prestigious rooms, and in 2026 Max Scotford became the Company's first food manufacturer Freeman in 402 years. The tasting itself takes place in the Old Banqueting Hall, at 7-15 Church Street in the city centre, S1 1HG.
