A full-day antenatal workshop for women in their third trimester planning to give birth in Sheffield, covering labour, pain relief, birth and the first hours with the baby.
All in one day: Preparation for Birth and life with your New Baby is running at the Parentcraft Room on Saturday 7 November, from 10am to 4pm. It's a free one-day workshop run by the Jessop Wing in the hospital's antenatal clinic, and it's aimed at women planning to give birth in Sheffield who are in their third trimester.
The day is designed to cover the whole journey in one go. The morning starts with the late-pregnancy changes and how to recognise when labour is actually starting, then moves into pain relief, induction and Caesarean birth. After lunch, the focus shifts to those first hours with your baby: skin-to-skin, the 'Golden hour', feeding choices and how to handle a newborn. The session closes on how to care for your baby responsively and safely.

It's a full programme, so you'll be there for the six hours. There's a morning session, a coffee break, lunch, and afternoon and tea breaks built in, and the ticket admits both the expectant mother and her birth partner. The workshop takes place in the Parentcraft Room at the Jessop Wing Antenatal Clinic, Tree Root Walk, Sheffield S10 2SF. It runs from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 7 November, and tickets are currently sold out.
