Stand-up show 'Golden' by Ahir Shah, winner of the Edinburgh Comedy Award, at The Steamworks.
Ahir Shah is playing The Steamworks on Thursday 30 September, his new show Golden finally making its way to Sheffield. It was originally scheduled for 4 February, so it's been a bit of a wait, but it's back on the calendar now.
If you haven't come across him yet, Shah is a stand-up who's spent the last few years working across TV and the stage. He's a regular on Live at the Apollo, Mock The Week, Have I Got News For You and QI, and his previous show, Ends, picked up the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show before selling out worldwide and being recorded as a Netflix special. Critics have described his stand-up as sharp, blending socio-political awareness with an energetic delivery, so Golden should sit in that same territory.
Beyond the stand-up, he's popped up in a fair few other places. He's got a special on HBO called Ahir Shah: Dots, and has taken acting roles in Jurassic World 3 and Apple TV's Foundation. On the panel side, he's appeared on Richard Osman's House of Games (BBC2), The Last Leg (C4), The Mash Report (BBC2), Frankie Boyle's New World Order (BBC2) and The Now Show (BBC Radio 4). It's a lot of ground to cover, but the night itself is just the one man on stage.
