Film screening of 'The Matrix' at the Seattle Asian Art Museum as part of the 'Excellent Adventures: Celebrating Keanu Reeves' series.
The Matrix is screening at the Seattle Asian Art Museum on Friday, November 27, from 7 PM to 9:30 PM. It's part of Excellent Adventures: Celebrating Keanu Reeves, a SAM Films series that brings eight of the actor's most iconic and diverse roles to the screen. This one is the 1999 original, directed by The Wachowskis.
Set in the 22nd century, the story follows a computer hacker who joins a group of underground insurgents fighting the powerful computers that rule the earth. It's rated R and runs 137 minutes. If you've seen it before, it's a good chance to catch it on a big screen; if you haven't, it's a fair place to start with the whole franchise.
The screening is presented by the Seattle Art Museum and made possible by the Brooks and Suzanne Ragen Film Endowment. It's held in the Stimson Auditorium at the Seattle Asian Art Museum, so you'll be in the museum's theater rather than a commercial cinema. Seating is first come, first served, so if you have a particular spot in mind, it's worth arriving a bit early. Drinks and snacks are available for purchase during the event.
