Screening of the Seattle Hip Hop Film Festival, presented by 206 Zulu and Propadata Films, at Washington Hall.
206 Zulu is hosting the Seattle Hip Hop Film Festival at Washington Hall on Saturday, November 7. They're putting it on with Propadata Films, and the program brings together short films from local filmmakers and beyond.
If you aren't familiar with the name, 206 Zulu is a Seattle-based non-profit founded in 2004. They describe themselves as dedicated to stewarding Hip Hop arts and culture through free and accessible programs. They've built a fair amount of ground in the city over the years: they run Emerald Street Studios, a community recording studio right there at Washington Hall; Zulu Radio, a weekly show on KBCS 91.3 FM; Soulful Mondays, a free all-ages weekly gathering; and Meeting of the Minds, their podcast and dialogue series. This festival is another one of those programs, and it's an all-ages event, so you can bring the kids along.
