Volunteer-led walking tour of Queen Anne tracing its architectural evolution from Queen Anne Style homes to Modern buildings.
Queen Anne: Evolution of an Urban Neighborhood is a walking tour on Thursday, November 14, starting at 10 AM. It's run by the Seattle Architecture Foundation, whose volunteer-led tours have been charting the city's architectural, landscape and urban-design history for more than 40 years. The group meets at West Queen Anne Elementary School (now condominiums), 1401 5th Ave W, Seattle, WA 98119.
Queen Anne is one of Seattle's most treasured hilltop neighborhoods, and the route traces its evolution from Queen Anne Style homes through to Modern architecture. Along the way, you'll see landmark residences, apartments and repurposed buildings, as well as expansive views, quiet corners, hidden estates and sensitive restorations. The neighborhood's age means some streets and sidewalks may be uneven, so keep that in mind when you're picking your shoes.
