Annual benefit concert featuring the acclaimed Voices of Our City Choir, with live music, food and a cocktail reception supporting the homeless community.
Voices of Our City Choir returns to Julep on Thursday, October 15, for their annual benefit concert. It's the organization's biggest fundraiser of the year, and the night is built around a choir performance, a cocktail reception, and dinner.
If you aren't familiar with the group, Voices of Our City is a San Diego nonprofit that works with homeless singers, songwriters, and instrumentalists. They provide holistic human services, music and arts programming, and a long-term community to help people find stable housing and rediscover their voice. The choir itself gained national attention in 2020 after appearing on three episodes of America's Got Talent, and it's since become an internationally recognized, award-winning ensemble.
Proceeds from the evening go toward life-saving resources and creative programming for San Diegans healing after homelessness. Co-founder and director Steph Johnson has described the choir as "a powerful lifeline" for those facing housing insecurity and health obstacles.
