Thee Sinseers, with The Charities

Thee Sinseers play the Epstein Family Amphitheater on Wednesday, October 21, with The Charities opening. The show is presented by ArtPower at UC San Diego.

Thee Sinseers formed in East Los Angeles in 2019 and draw from the traditions of soul and R&B, pairing timeless melodies with frontman Joey Quiñones's velvety vocals. On their Colemine Records release Love Stories, they leaned into earthier instrumentation — standup bass and guitars run through amplifiers for a warmer, sixties-adjacent tone — while expanding the frame of romantic relationships to include the familial, the complicated and the unresolved. The album looks beyond happy endings to explore everything that comes before, after and in between. The Charities open the bill with vintage-inspired R&B, lush harmonies and heartfelt songwriting.

Logistics: The show starts at 7 PM, with gates opening at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $35-50, and those prices include fees. If you're a UCSD student, there are limited free tickets available through SSO. The venue is the Epstein Family Amphitheater at UC San Diego, 9480 Innovation Ln, La Jolla, CA 92093.
