Switchfoot with Anberlin - Forever Now Tour

Switchfoot are playing The Sound at the Del Mar Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 24, with Anberlin as special guests. It's part of the Forever Now tour, and the headliners are bringing a new record with them.

Switchfoot is a band of brothers—Jon Foreman, Tim Foreman, Boaz Roberts, Jerome Fontamillas, and Chad Butler—who've been playing together for nearly three decades. Over that time they've sold more than 10 million albums, with the 3x Platinum The Beautiful Letdown being one of their best-known records and a GRAMMY Award for Hello Hurricane. Their fourteenth studio album, Forever Now, was produced by Mike Elizondo and is their first in five years; the band describes it as a guitar-driven return to their classic sound. Beyond the music, they've raised more than $3 million through the Bro-Am Foundation for at-risk youth in their hometown of San Diego.

Anberlin formed in Winter Haven, Florida, in 2002 around Stephen Christian, Deon Rexroat, and Joey Milligan, who had played together in the late-90s punk band SaGoh 24/7. Signed to Tooth & Nail Records, they've sold over a million albums by blending driving punk-rock energy with earnest, emo-inflected lyricism. Frontman Stephen Christian recently announced he would no longer tour full-time, and live vocalist Matty Mullins of Memphis May Fire stepped in for their first album in ten years, Vega.

The show starts at 8 PM, with doors opening at 7 PM. General admission is $52.50 in advance and $57.50 on the day of the show, and reserved seating is $89.50. Those are box office prices, so service fees apply if you buy online. The venue is The Sound at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd, Del Mar, CA 92014.
