An all-ages metal concert featuring Transmutation, Calabio Twins, Violuminescence, and The Big MT at The Che Cafe Collective.
The Che Cafe Collective is hosting Slasher Sunday on Sunday, October 11, with Transmutation, Calabio Twins, Violuminescence, and The Big MT sharing the bill. It's an all-ages metal show, and the collective is inviting everyone to turn up in their best killer attire and shred the night away.
If you've never been, The Che Cafe Collective is a non-profit, volunteer-run DIY venue in San Diego that's been around since the 1990s. It's an all-ages, strictly sober space that books heavy music—hardcore, metal, and death metal—and it's also a vegan café, a restorative justice 'brave space,' and a resource center for radical grassroots activists. Beyond the music, the collective runs mutual aid projects like vegan community meals, political film screenings, craft days, study hours, and a weekly Sunday archive session, and it maintains a community fridge, pantry, and clothing closet. It's not a bar, and it sticks to an early schedule to suit the bands, the volunteers, and the all-ages crowds, who often have curfews.
