Fourth edition of the anime convention featuring cosplayers, artists, vendors, panels, screenings, workshops, and live entertainment.
San Diego Anime Con returns for its fourth edition at the DoubleTree by Hilton San Diego at the Hazard Center in Mission Valley, running from Friday, November 13, through Sunday, November 15. It's produced by Silk Road Productions, and this year it moves into a hotel-convention format.
The con started in November 2025 at the Handlery Hotel of Mission Valley, pitched as an intimate alternative to the city's massive Comic-Con and built around Japanese animation, comics, and pop culture. The organizers say they sold out both days of that first edition, and since then the event has settled into a community-focused scale: around fifty vendors and fifty artists, a hotel bar that fills with cosplayers when the panels let out, and a program of anime screenings, workshops, an artists alley, voice actor guests, board games, video games, an escape room, cosplay meet-ups, and prize-winning game shows.
Running alongside it is San Diego LAN, a gaming weekend in the hotel lobby on Saturday and Sunday that mixes strategy and FPS titles with a house-party feel. Between the two, you've got the anime and cosplay side of things and a dedicated gaming space happening under the same roof.
