Role Model presents Chuck On Tour + Samia

Role Model plays the Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre on Tuesday, October 13, as part of his Chuck On Tour. He's bringing Samia along for the bill, so you'll get two sets in one night.

If you're not familiar with him, Role Model is a 27-year-old artist from Portland, Maine, whose music pulls from a wide spread: alternative, indie, rap, dream pop, and hip-hop. His debut album, Rx, was written about a formative relationship. His sophomore record, Kansas Anymore, is a folk-tinged, lyric-driven collection of 13 songs, including "Oh Gemini" and "Deeply Still in Love."

That second album came after he scrapped much of the early work he'd started in 2022. For Kansas Anymore, he collaborated with Noah Conrad, Ian Fitchuk, Scott Harris, and Jonah Shy. Between the two records, you can hear him moving from the more rap-leaning sounds of Rx toward the folk-inflected writing of the newer material.

Doors open at 6:30 PM and the show starts at 7:30 PM. A couple of things to keep in mind before you head out: the venue is cashless, with cash-to-card kiosks behind the Ticket Office at the Main Gate if you need to swap bills for a card, and they enforce a clear-bag policy.
