Concert by American singer-songwriter Rickie Lee Jones at the Belly Up venue in Solana Beach, near San Diego.
Rickie Lee Jones plays Belly Up in Solana Beach on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. It's a solo bill, so the whole night is hers.
If you're not familiar with her, Jones is an American musician and storyteller who's been working for five decades. She started with her self-titled debut and Pirates, and from there she's moved through rock, R&B, blues, pop, soul, and jazz. The New Yorker called her the "premiere song-stylist and songwriter of her generation," and Time dubbed her "The Duchess of Coolsville." She's a two-time Grammy winner and an eight-time nominee, and Pirates made number 49 on NPR's list of the 150 Greatest Albums Made by Women. In 1999, VH1 put her at number 30 on their 100 Greatest Women in Rock & Roll.
She's still active, too. In 2023 she released Pieces of Treasure, which earned a Grammy nomination and brought her back together with Russ Titelman, the producer of her first two records. Around the same time, her memoir Last Chance Texaco was named Book of the Year by MOJO. The Independent described her as "always something defiant... a voice from a dream, elusive yet familiar, transcendent, a messenger from another place."
