Concert by American soul and pop singer Durell Anthony at il Sogno Italiano.
Durell Anthony plays il Sogno Italiano on Wednesday, October 7, at 6:30 PM. He's a singer, songwriter, and musician from Atchison, Kansas, who works in pop and soul, and this is a solo bill—just him on the lineup.
If you're not familiar with his sound, it's smooth and soulful, and he's open about where it comes from: Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Brian McKnight, and John Legend. He first got national attention as a Top 40 contestant on season 20 of NBC's The Voice, where his Blind Audition picked up around a million views on Instagram and TikTok and landed him a spot on John Legend's team. Since then, he's collaborated with Carrie Underwood and Yolonda Adams and lent his vocals to television projects for Disney, Fox, NBC, and Peacock.
There's some recent local recognition to keep in mind, too. In 2024, his piano ballad One More Night was nominated for Best Pop Song at the San Diego Music Awards, and his latest release, Higher, is out on all streaming platforms. If you want to get a sense of what he's bringing to the stage before you go, that's a good place to start.
