Electronic and darkwave duo Boy Harsher perform live at The Sound Del Mar, with support from True Blue and Kassie Krut.
Boy Harsher play The Sound on Saturday, October 17, with True Blue and Kassie Krut opening. The show is presented by Belly Up Presents and is open to all ages.
Boy Harsher are an American electronic and darkwave duo who formed in 2013. The sound is built by Gus Muller, who also plays in Reconss, layering minimal beats and grinding synths while Jae Matthews whispers, screams and chants over the top. The pair draw on cinema, theatrics and graphic design, and have cited David Lynch's Lost Highway as an influence. Muller leans heavily on synthesizers and samplers, including a self-described "half-functioning" Roland Juno-106 on their Lesser Man EP.
Support comes from Kassie Krut, a new project by Eve Alpert and Kasra Kurt, both of Palm, and Matt Anderegg of Mothers and Body Meat, taking in dub, noise, UK club music and contemporary pop. True Blue also opens the bill.
