Odyssey Dance Theatre's annual Halloween dance spectacular, with evening shows and a Saturday matinee, in its 29th year.
Odyssey Dance Theatre brings Thriller back to the SLCC Grand Theatre this October, with performances running from Tuesday the 20th through Saturday the 24th. It's a two-hour Halloween show that pairs technical dance with a parade of spooky characters: Frankenstein's monster and his bride, skeletons, and mummies. The company has made it a yearly tradition, and it's become a local phenomenon here in Salt Lake City.
Founder and artistic director Derryl Yeager says the show is now in its 29th year, and that most performances sell out. That long run explains why it feels like a fixture of the city's Halloween seasonβit's one of those things that comes around every October, and people keep coming back to it. The production is built around the dance, so the monsters and the makeup are the framing for the movement rather than the whole point.

The run is set up as a series of evening shows, with a Saturday matinee added to the mix. You can catch it Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights at 7:30 PM, and on Saturday, October 24, there are two options: a 2:00 PM matinee and another 7:30 PM performance. Single tickets range from $47 to $82, and there are discounts for groups, students, dancers, emergency services, educators, and seniors. The venue is the SLCC Grand Theatre at 1575 South State Street in Salt Lake City.
