Hands-on science program for third to fifth graders in which young science sleuths crack codes, analyze fingerprints and solve riddles.
Super Science Saturday: Curiosity Clues is coming to the Natural History Museum of Utah on Saturday, December 5. It's part of the museum's Super Science Saturday series, a hands-on program designed for third through fifth graders. This particular session, Curiosity Clues, is built around a mystery, and the kids spend the morning acting as science sleuths.
There's a good bit of ground they cover. They'll be cracking codes, decoding secret messages, and analyzing fingerprints. They'll also work through riddles and experiment with invisible ink. It's the kind of thing that lets them actually do the work rather than just watch someone else do it, and the mystery framing gives the whole morning a thread to follow.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Salt Lake City and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

The program runs from 9:15 AM to 12:15 PM, so it's a full morning. It's held in the Naturalists' Lab, which is inside Rowland Hall at the museum in Salt Lake City. If you've got a third, fourth, or fifth grader who likes puzzles or playing detective, this is exactly the kind of thing they'll get into.
