Kat McDaniel is leading a spooky painting series this October at Bad Dog Arts, a four-part course that takes you through acrylics on canvas over the course of the month. The sessions run on October 15, 22, 23, and 30, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, so you'll be painting right up until Halloween night. It's set up as a relaxing evening, pitched as a date night or a girls' night out, and it's open to anyone 16 and over.
McDaniel works with the group step-by-step, showing how to block in the background and build the layers needed to get to the final result. You'll be working with acrylics on canvas, and the studio provides all the materials, so you don't need to bring your own supplies or have any prior experience to join in. The focus is on the process—starting with the broad shapes and layering in the details—rather than just jumping to the finish.
