Non-traditional printmaking workshop led by Wolf Hansen in which participants use everyday materials like LEGO and erasers to experiment with ink.
Printmaking Unleashed is a four-session printmaking class running at Bad Dog Studio in Salt Lake City. It's led by instructor Wolf Hansen, and the whole thing leans into a bold, anything-goes, non-traditional approach. The idea is to loosen up and get a little inky, and it's aimed at anyone who wants to spend a few evenings making things without worrying about getting them perfect.
Perfection is treated as overrated here, and curiosity is what leads the way. You'll be printing with everyday materials like LEGO and erasers to build rich textures, layered patterns, and the kind of unexpected results that only come from messing around. There's no prior experience needed—just a willingness to experiment, laugh at the mess, and follow wherever the ink takes you. The studio welcomes anyone aged 16 and over, so it works as a first foray into printmaking or as a way to shake off some old habits if you've already spent time around a press.

The class meets on Wednesday nights: October 14, 21, 28, and November 4, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. That's four sessions over five weeks, so you'll have some time between classes to think about what you're building. The studio is at 824 South 400 West, Suite B-129, in Salt Lake City, and the cost is $160 for the full series.
