One-day Halloween-themed furry convention with an artist alley, fursuit parade, panels, games, crafts and a silent charity auction.
Spooktacufur: Hotel of Horror takes over the Hilton Salt Lake City Center on Saturday, October 24, from 12 PM to 8 PM. It's a one-day, Halloween-themed convention for furries, and this year it's moving into a new venue. The day is built around a few main things: an Artist Alley of local artists, a fursuit parade, panels, games, and crafts, and a silent charity auction. Oddie Bun is hosting the whole thing.
This edition brings in its first-ever Guest of Honor, Hannimations, a local Utah artist known for cute, colorful plushies, stickers, and shirts. There's also a live show from HawkWatch International. Between the parade and the panels, you'll find the Artist Alley where local creators set up shop, and the silent auction runs throughout the day, with the proceeds going to charity. If you're into the making side of things, there are games and crafts to get stuck into too.
Because it's a new venue, the organizers are limiting registration to test the capacity, so it's not an open-door situation. Admission is by pre-registration onlyβno tickets will be sold at the door, so you'll need to secure your spot ahead of time. All-comers are welcome, and kids under 10 get in free. One rule to keep in mind: political or religious costumes aren't permitted.
