Guided 90-minute ghost walk through Historic Whiskey Street in downtown Salt Lake City, with haunting tales and local history.
Story Tours is running the Salt Lake City Whiskey Street Ghost Walk on Friday, October 23, as part of a series of walks they're hosting throughout October. The tour takes you down Historic Whiskey Street in downtown Salt Lake City, where you'll hear haunting tales and local history about the ghosts rumored to still linger in the area's old haunts. It's about 90 minutes long, so it's a decent stretch of walking through a part of downtown that doesn't always get this kind of attention.
If you're planning to go, there's a specific meeting spot to keep in mind. You'll want to gather at 10 Exchange Place, by the copper doors on the northwest side of the Newhouse Building near Main Street. From there, the walk officially sets off from Exchange Place Plaza at 350 South Main Street. The October 23 tour starts at 9:30 PM, and since it's a night walk, the atmosphere fits the subject matter.
Story Tours—who also run Ogden and SLC Ghost Tours—doesn't stop with this one. They've got a Salt Lake City Cemetery Tour and a bus-borne Ogden City Ghost Tour, so if you're into this kind of thing, there are a few other ways to spend an evening with them. The Whiskey Street walk is just one of several dates they're running this month: Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24 both start at 9:30 PM, and the Halloween dates—Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31—start earlier, at 7:30 PM.
