Ghost walk through the graves of Salt Lake City Cemetery to learn about the spirits said to roam the cemetery.
UT Ghost Tours is taking a walk through the Salt Lake City Cemetery on Saturday, October 31, starting at 5 PM. It's a Halloween night tour, so the timing fits the mood. The walk lasts about 90 minutes, which is plenty of time to get your steps in while you're out among the headstones.
The tour is run by Story Tours, who handle ghost walks in both Ogden and Salt Lake City. They describe the experience as "tip-toeing through the tombstones," and the whole thing centers on the ghosts they say still roam the cemetery. Along the way, you'll hear stories about those spirits and get into why some of them may or may not be resting in peace. It's a storytelling walk, so the focus is on the narratives rather than just the history.
If you're bringing a group, there are a few ways to do it. The standard Ghost Walk is $25 for adults, $23 for students, seniors, and military, and $20 for children under 11. For those who want their own group, there are private ghost walks throughout October for $30 per person, though you'll need at least 10 people to make one happen. There's also a van option for $30 general admission.
