Reading with Raptors

HawkWatch International brings its Reading with Raptors program to the Discovery Gateway Children's Museum on Saturday, November 14, from 11 AM to 12 PM. It's a monthly thing they run at the museum, and this session is made possible by Salt Lake County ZAP.

The setup is simple: children get to meet one of the organization's Raptor Ambassadors—a live bird of prey—and then read a storybook that matches the bird they've just met. While they read, they'll learn about raptors, so it's a mix of a story time and a nature lesson. The whole thing is geared toward kids, and since it's part of a monthly series, it's a good one to keep on your radar if you're looking for things to do with little ones on the weekends.

Discovery Gateway is at 444 W 100 S in downtown Salt Lake City, and the session runs for an hour, from 11 AM to 12 PM. It's included with museum admission, so there's no extra cost on top of your ticket. There's no registration necessary, either—you just show up. If you're already planning a day at the museum, this is an easy one to slot in.
