32nd annual juried art exhibition open to all Utah artists, with $5,000 in prizes and free admission.
The President's Art Show returns to Salt Lake Community College this fall, with the exhibition running from October 30 through November 19. It's the 32nd annual juried show, which means it's been a part of the local art calendar for over three decades. The show is open to all Utah artists—amateurs and professionals alike—and awards $5,000 in prize money. Because it's juried, the work on the walls has been selected by a panel rather than just being a first-come, first-served display, so you're seeing a curated slice of what artists across the state have been working on.
If you want to see the work as soon as it opens, there's an opening reception on Thursday, October 29, starting at 6 PM. That's the night when the artists themselves are most likely to be around, so it's a good time to catch the people behind the pieces and hear how they came together. After that, the show stays up for nearly three weeks, which gives you plenty of time to swing by whenever it fits your schedule.

The exhibition is held at the SLCC South City Campus, in the Multipurpose Room SCM 1-030/1-032 at 1575 South State Street. Admission is free, and it's open to all ages, so it's as easy a trip as it gets—nothing more than walking in and taking your time with the work. The hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 AM to 7 PM, and Friday from 10 AM to 3 PM, with the gallery closed on Saturdays and Sundays. If you're coming after work, those weekday evenings until 7 PM are your best bet.
