Informal evening in which local scientists from the University of Utah present their research and lead a group Q&A.
Science Café returns to the Natural History Museum of Utah on Wednesday, November 18, from 6 to 8 PM. It's the museum's forum for the scientific research currently happening at the University of Utah, and this particular evening features four local scientists presenting their work.
The format is what gives the night its name. Rather than a formal lecture, the scientists speak in an informal, interactive cafe-style setting. Each one gets 15 minutes or less to lay out what they're working on, and then they open it up for a lively group Q&A. With four of them on the bill, you'll get a few different fields of research in a single evening, and you can ask questions as you go rather than waiting until the very end. Light refreshments are provided, so it's more of a social gathering than a seated presentation.
