Free Veterans Day walk-up tour of the Meditation Chapel inside Memory Grove Park, with no registration required.
Preservation Utah is opening the Meditation Chapel for a guided tour on Wednesday, November 11, in honor of Veterans Day. The tour runs from 11 AM to 1 PM, and it's a free walk-up event, so you don't need to register in advance.
The chapel is a small, quiet room tucked inside Memory Grove Park, right at the base of City Creek Canyon in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. It's not a place that stays open all the time; Preservation Utah typically opens it for tours on the second Friday and fourth Saturday of each month from April through October, along with special events and holidays. This Veterans Day tour is one of those special openings, so it's a good chance to see the inside if you've walked past it before but never gone in.
One thing to keep in mind: the tour is limited to the chapel's interior and doesn't include a guided tour of the rest of the park's monuments. If you want to see more of the grounds, you're welcome to explore Memory Grove Park and its monuments on your own—there's even a scavenger hunt for visitors who want to dig into the park's history. The chapel tour itself stays focused on the building.
