A dance concert featuring young dancers from three Utah studios, benefiting Shriners Children's Salt Lake City.
Kids Who Dance, So Others Can Walk returns to The Grand Theatre on Saturday, November 14, with its Art With Heart dance concert. It's a local tradition that's been running for a while now, and this year marks the 24th year the event has supported Shriners Hospitals for Children.
The bill brings together young dancers, aged four to 18, from three of Utah's dance studios: Dance Impressions, The Dance Club, and The Winner School. Seeing that age range on one stage is part of the drawβyou'll see the four-year-olds alongside the teenagers, all performing in the same show. It's a broad cross-section of the local dance community rather than a single school's recital.
Beyond the dancing, there's a concrete reason for the ticket price. Art With Heart benefits Shriners Children's Salt Lake City, and over the last 24 years the program has raised more than $1.3 million to provide specialized care for children with orthopedic needs, regardless of a family's ability to pay. That money goes toward the hospital's work right here in the city.
