En Pointe Ballet stages its production of The Nutcracker at The Grand Theatre.
En Pointe Ballet brings The Nutcracker to The Grand Theatre this winter, with performances running December 1 through 4. It's a four-night stretch, so you've got a few dates to choose from rather than just one evening.
If you're not familiar with the venue, The Grand Theatre calls itself the "Community's Professional Theatre," and they've built their reputation on keeping things affordable and filling the stage with local artists. That's a good way to frame what they do, because their programming covers a lot of ground. This season, that includes Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, a musical set in 1939 Philadelphia that follows Billie Holiday's final performances. There's also Odyssey Dance Theatre's Halloween show Thriller, which is now in its 29th year, and the acappella Christmas concert Come, O Come, heading into its 22nd year at the theatre. The Nutcracker fits right into that mix—a classic ballet production that's part of a broader winter lineup.

For the ballet itself, the performances are at 6 PM each night. Tickets run from $27 to $37, with some starting at $25, so it's a relatively easy night to pull together for a family or a group. With the show running December 1 through 4, you can pick whichever evening works best for you.
