Grammy-nominated violinist Jenny Oaks Baker and her children, Family Four, bring a Christmas concert with choirs, ballet and Irish dancers to the Eccles Theater.
Jenny Oaks Baker brings Joy to the World! A Sacred Celebration to the Eccles Theater on Tuesday, December 1, 2026. It's a holiday show that pulls in a lot of different performers: Baker plays with her children and the musical ensemble Family Four, soprano Lisa Hopkins Seegmiller, and the Utah Voices chorales directed by Kelly DaHaan. The arrangements are by composer Kurt Bestor, with a script by Jason F. Wright and narration and vocals by baritone Preston Yates. Local ballet companies and Irish dancers also join in.
Baker is a Grammy nominee known as "America's Violinist." She started playing at age four and made her solo orchestral debut in 1983 when she was eight. She holds a Master of Music from Juilliard and a Bachelor's in violin performance from The Curtis Institute of Music. Since 1998, she's released eighteen albums as a Shadow Mountain Artist, selling over a million copies. Wish Upon a Star: A Tribute to the Music of Walt Disney earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Instrumental Album, and her 2010 album Then Sings My Soul hit No. 1 on the Top Classical Albums chart.
She's performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and has played with the National Symphony, the Tabernacle Choir on Temple Square, and the Utah Symphony. She's also collaborated with Marie Osmond, Gladys Knight, and Condoleezza Rice. She and her husband live in Salt Lake City with their four musical children, who make up Family Four.
