IMomsohard: The Flashback Tour

Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley are bringing IMomsohard: The Flashback Tour to the Delta Performance Hall at the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Theater on Saturday, October 24, at 8 PM. If you've followed them since the beginning, you know the name: IMomsohard started as a web series by two real-life best friends, comedians, and mothers who decided over a glass of wine and plenty of tears of frustration to tell a different kind of story. They spoke openly about their fears and failures, and the whole thing was built on the idea that the only way to survive motherhood is through laughter and friendship.

That video became a smash hit, sparking an online community of two million followers and drawing nearly 300 million views worldwide in just five years. From there, Hensley and Smedley kept going with weekly videos about womanhood and motherhood, and the series eventually grew to over three million followers, four sold-out national tours, a podcast, a New York Times bestseller, and a TV deal. Their most widely known special, IMomSoHard: Live, came out on Amazon Prime Video and blends stand-up with the conversational banter of their web series.

The Flashback Tour works as a touring special-in-progress, and the material shifts the focus. Instead of the day-to-day of parenting, it draws on "remember when" stories about awkward teen years, early dating, and pre-kids nightlife. On stage, their chemistry is closer to sisters than traditional stand-up comics, and the show lets you in on the history that came before the motherhood stuff.
