Free screening of the documentary 'OUTCRY: Alchemists of Rage' by Whitney Bradshaw, followed by a discussion led by Green Wave Utah.
Green Wave Utah is hosting a free screening of OUTCRY: Alchemists of Rage at the Salt Lake City Main Library on Sunday, October 25. The documentary was produced by Whitney Bradshaw, and the screening is presented in partnership with the Utah Progressive Caucus and Tenille Taggart. The film runs 33 minutes, and the session is followed by a discussion led by Green Wave Utah's event lead, Dani Darrant.
OUTCRY: Alchemists of Rage follows Bradshaw, an artist and sexual abuse survivor, as she photographs women mid-scream in cathartic group sessions. In those rooms, long-silenced stories bring up rage, sorrow, and joy, and Bradshaw turns that art into action for women's rights. The film tracks that work through to a grassroots fight for reproductive rights in Ohio. It deals with sensitive, deeply personal subject matter, so that's something to keep in mind before you go.
The discussion after the film leaves time to connect with community partners and check your voter registration. If you're coming, the organizers encourage you to bring a donation for the Geraldine E. King Homeless Shelter.
