Free screening of an international film, shown as originally created with English subtitles at The City Library's Main Library auditorium.
The Community Cinema Film Series is back at The City Library on Tuesday, October 27, with a screening in the Main Library auditorium. It's an international program, so the films come from all over, and the whole thing is built around the idea of gathering with other people in the city to explore different cultures through cinema.
There are two things that set this series apart from your average movie night. First, it's framed by the library's commitment to intellectual freedom: films are shown exactly as they were originally created, without being edited for content. Second, every screening includes English subtitles, which makes it easy to follow along even when the film is in another language. It's a straightforward way to see international cinema without the usual cuts or the need to keep your eyes glued to the captions.

The listings for the series are brought to visitors by NowPlayingUtah.com, Utah's online arts and entertainment website powered by the Utah Cultural Alliance. If you're looking for something to do on a Tuesday night, it's a low-stakes way to spend an evening—just show up at the Main Library auditorium, settle in, and see something you probably wouldn't find at the multiplex. Admission is free.
