Spanish-language stand-up show 'El Juicio' by Franco Escamilla, for mature audiences only, at the Eccles Theater.
Franco Escamilla is coming to the George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Theater on Saturday, July 17, 2027, with his tour El Juicio ('The Trial'). The show is in Spanish, presented by Live at the Eccles and Eventos Inc., and is for mature audiences onlyβno infants allowed.
Escamilla builds the whole set around the idea of the 'Supreme Court of Comedy,' and he's the one on the stand. He spends the night airing out his most personal stories, his best-kept secrets, and the most embarrassing moments of his life, with the running joke that reality often beats fiction. The only verdict he offers is that laughter and entertainment are guaranteed.
If you haven't spent much time at the Eccles Theater, it's a five-story spot in downtown Salt Lake City. The architects, Pelli Clarke Pelli, took their cues from southern Utah's canyon landscape, so the walls, seats, and floors carry the colors and striated patterns of the canyons, and the ceiling is a signature star-field. The theater helped spark the renovation of Regent Street, which is now a lively urban thoroughfare of local restaurants and retail, including the on-site farm-to-table bistro Tin Angel.
